Everyday that we wake up, is a blessing. We may not feel good but it is a good day because God is good and God is with us.

In nature it may be a cloudy day. The sun may not be seen, but the fact that a new day is being experienced testifies to the fact that the sun rose. Somewhere in the world the sun is shining brighter, than where we may be or where someone else is. We all wish we were always where the sun is the brightest and warmest, but we can’t always be.

The sun was shining even if I didn’t see it or feel it as brightly as I wished.

Today, good things happened in my life. Today I also experienced more sadness than happiness. Life was hard today, but I choose to focus on and give thanks for small victories. God allowed there to be success in a project I was working on. That was more than enough to give God praise. The sun was shining even if I didn’t see it or feel it as brightly as I wished.

Just like days that have rain storms, the sun breaks out and we run to in that moment and lift our face to the sky to feel the warmth and light of the sun, we can choose to practise that with our emotions and spirit through praise and prayer.

In days that there seems to be more rain, I force opportunities of sun to shine by intentionally lifting my face toward heaven. The praise music plays all around me. The prayers flow at any moment, in any place. And I am met by the Son who brings the warmth, brightness, energy and life that I need.

Today may you and I remember that the sun rose. May we look for brighter days, because we know they are coming. The sun always rises. The Son has risen already.

My Prayer for you and for me today:
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace”
Numbers 6:24-26
