I was being interviewed about my latest single release "Help Is On The Way".
And during the conversation I was asked, “What do you tell someone that expected help to look a certain way and it didn't come the way they wanted it to, like in loss or death?”
It took me back to the many times I pleaded with God for things and His answer was no or wait. Does this mean I didn't get help?
There was a year I was wrongfully accused of doing something I didn't do to a child — it took months to clear up the child had lied, but in those months I was able to take time for a surgery I needed and not take sick days. Help was provided for something else, in a different way. And did I mention that the police had already assured me I would be fine from their preliminary investigation — so I could rest and wait. God certainly provided help.
In the year I had 7 surgeries, the help from so many, in terms of meals and childcare can't be put into words and although I would never have chosen this journey, I would never have been blessed by such hospitality and care if I didn't. Help was on the way and kept going.
My friend died of cancer, while I was going through cancer. It broke my heart. I was in the room while she died. I didn't know it then, but it was shared with me that my words and presence, were what gave her son comfort and evidence that God loved him and was present. We were each other's help. God gave her rest from her pain and us comfort in her loss.
Psalms 46:1 says "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
We wouldn't know and experience God's help if we didn't need it. He is very present in trouble. No one likes trouble but no one can escape it. Our comfort and power is in the presence of God in it. Whenever we are in trouble, it always means help is on the way! This life is filled with trouble which means God's help will never go away. Help Is On The Way! Always!
